John Jennings

John has over 40 years of legal experience working as a partner in law firms in the U.S., in private practice in Belgium, and as in-house counsel in Europe.  Prior to joining the firm, John was global general counsel for an international manufacturing company, based in Belgium.  He has worked in-house in the specialty chemical and high-tech manufacturing industries.  John has depth of experience working with private equity portfolio companies.  His practice focuses on advising clients on contracts, corporate, operations and real estate, litigation & dispute resolution, EU competition law and antitrust, and general compliance matters.  John’s years as an in-house lawyer in the EU coupled with private practice experience in the U.S. give him an unrivalled perspective on transatlantic legal affairs.  John’s goal with his practice is to provide efficient, insightful legal advice to support clients’ international business operations.

John graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1982 and earned an LL.M. in European Community Business Law from the University of Amsterdam in 1995.  During a sabbatical year he taught U.S. and EU law at a law school in the Czech Republic.  He is licensed to practice in Missouri.

John and his Belgian wife met in Poland.  They live in the Brussels area, sometimes with one or both of their adult sons who are in graduate school.  Away from work, John enjoys exploring the backroads of Belgium by motorcycle and going to the gym.
