Bryan Elwood

Bryan Elwood is an attorney specializing in international trade, investment, and compliance.  He advises clients on global trade and regulatory matters.

Mr. Elwood previously served as Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer the world’s second-largest chemicals distributor, where he built and led a global legal and compliance team supporting operations in over 70 countries.

Earlier in his career, he practiced with leading Washington, D.C. law firms, managing trade, customs, and compliance matters for multinational clients.  His government service includes participating in Mexico’s NAFTA negotiation team, serving as Chief Trade Counsel at the Embassy of Mexico in Washington, D.C and working as a trade capacity-building consultant for the Organization of American States (OAS).

Mr. Elwood has authored numerous articles on international trade and compliance and frequently speaks on cross-border regulatory and policy issues. With experience in government, private practice, and corporate leadership, his career offers a distinctive perspective on complex cross-border legal and regulatory issues.
